Cops Chase a Smart Fortwo

Truth is often stranger than fiction, and the video below of police in Houston, Texas chasing a suspect in a Smart Fortwo is excellent evidence.

Seeing a police officer chase the two-seater micro-car is pretty funny, especially when during the video other cars actually pass the Smart on the freeway. Consider that the car packs a 1.0-liter engine that can displace less volume than a frat boy in any given period of time, and that the inline three cylinders work hard to pump out 70 horsepower, and that goes a long way to understanding why this chase is pretty weird.

Still, according to the news anchor, the Smart Fortwo was speeding, even if when it tries to climb hills the car struggles to stay at freeway speeds. Why anyone thought running from the police in such a tiny car was a good idea is unclear, but the result is the same as any other police chase. The lesson here is to just pull over for the police and don't even think about running.
