Porsche 918 Spyder Burns While Fueling

The latest fad in supercars is to let them burn to the ground. Really, it was a fashion that was started by Ferrari long ago, but others have been joining in lately, such as the prototype Acura NSX that burned at the Nurburgring.

This time, it was a Porsche 918 Spyder that burned. The gasoline-electric hybrid car was being refueled at a Toronto-area gas station when it caught fire. Multiple people took photos of the inferno and posted them to Twitter, while at least one person captured the spectacle on video (warning: language):



As you can see from the video, the car is almost certainly a complete loss. The whole thing's enough to make me cry, but hearing the people on the video panic that the gas station might explode takes some of the edge off. Watch too many Hollywood movies lately?
