Toyota Hinting That the C-HR Will See Production

Toyota lately has been getting pretty bold with its designs, which are gravitating more and more toward what one would expect only from concept vehicles. Nissan's been doing something similar, but for the most part automakers have been avoiding this kind of a strategy, choosing instead to play follow the leader.

Shopping for used cars can be a frustrating process, which is why I'm beginning to offer some information on different models. If you're in the market for an incredibly capable and luxurious SUV, you can't really go wrong with the Toyota Land Cruiser (assuming it fits into your budget).

The 2012 Toyota 4Runner

When it comes to the 2012 4Runner, Toyota offers an SUV with serious off-road capabilities. The vehicle’s body-on-frame construction is something of a rarity in today’s world where more and more SUVs are becoming increasingly car-like. Toyota further bolsters the 4Runner’s ability to tackle heavy snow, mud and small bodies of water by outfitting it with a traction control system designed for off-road conditions, skid plates, a full-size spare tire, hill-descent and hill-hold assistance systems, off-road tires and locking differentials. Trail and Limited models come with a suspension system that can disconnect the front and rear stabilizer bars to handle especially tricky off-road conditions.

Brace yourself, because I'm about to break some shocking news: Toyota through its Collaborative Safety Research Center, has concluded that there is a correlative relationship between bad teen drivers and their parents driving like crap as well.

Toyota Prius Hatred is Very Much Alive

After all these years, people still really hate the Toyota Prius. The Chicago Tribune last week ran a piece about how hated the hybrid hatchback is, but you need a subscription to read it. I gleaned some of the info from Green Car Reports, which highlighted the fact that the Prius is usually associated with those who lean left on the political spectrum. The article also highlighted the "Prius repellent" known as rolling coal, which I have talked about on here.

"What's in a name?" That famous question was posed by Juliet. While the young lover trivialized the meaning of names, the fact is that there is a lot in a name. Just think if someone you know were to have a child and name him Adolf Hitler (that's happened).

How to Handle a Car Defect

Car defects are back in the news in a big way right now, what with Toyota paying out a huge amount for covering up the unintended acceleration problem and still facing criminal charges in the United States. There's also GM and the drama surrounding the faulty ignitions it has done nothing about for over a decade. Both have been hot-button topics in the automotive world and even at office water coolers, considering a humongous chunk of the United States drives either a Toyota or GM vehicle.

In the past I have argued that Toyota has killed off its soul as an automaker because it stopped producing exciting models like the Supra, MR2 and Celica and instead has been pumping out quite a few uninspiring vehicles in bland colors. This is why I was shocked when Toyota revealed it was co-developing the Scion FR-S (or Toyota GT) with Subaru. The Lexus LFA was another surprising move by a company known for its body rolls and numb steering.
